Lag B’Omer was celebrated in Chabad of Hebron style, lighting Hebron up with the joyful celebration of Rebbe Shimon Bar Yochai. The highlight: a massive tahalucha parade of children through the night, bearing torches, Jewish pride posters, smiles, and songs. Starting in Kiryat Arba, the parade transformed the weary streets for a night, into one of youthful song, warmth, and happiness. The large group made their way to Me’arat HaMachpela and a wonderful bonfire next to the Visitor’s Center. Long-time Chabad of Hebron friend, Dr. Eli Rosen of Crown Heights, lit the fire in accord with the Rebbe Rashab’s wishes that the Hebron Lag B’Omer celebratory bonfire be purchased in his name and merit. Also on hand was long time Chabad of Hebron friend, Meir Rhodes, who is recovering from an illness and we wish him a refuah shleima.
