FAREWELL TO HEVRON SOLDIERS

On Rosh Chodesh Adar, Chabad of Hevron was privileged to host a unit of Shaked Givati soldiers. The unit had been serving in Hevron for several months and was about to go to their next assignment. While they were in Hevron they forged a close connection to the Cohen family, especially on Friday nights, when they always knew they were welcome to come for the Shabbos meal.

At the Rosh Chodesh event the Cohens wanted to express their appreciation and pleasure in getting to know the soldiers and being instrumental in their spiritual growth. It turned out that the soldiers also wanted to show appreciation and they presented Danny and Batsheva with beautiful mounted candleholders with the unit's insignia.

The insignia is very significant to Danny. During his service of active duty in 1991 - this was his insignia - he served in this very unit!

The soldiers enjoyed a magic show by Rabbi Victor Atiya. Victor always amazes his audience and he always connects his magic tricks to lessons from the Torah.
