Hevron pioneer Sara Nachshon addresses the women of Gush Katif
Nshei Chabad from Kfar Chabad has held a series of events for the women of Gush Katif who lost their homes and their communities. The Gush Katif refugees literally experienced having the ground taken from under their feet. It is no secret that the Disengagement experience has caused much disorientation and confusion amongst its victims.
The Nshei Chabad hostesses, led by Mrs. Yehudit Piamenta and Neve Dekalim/Nitzan Shlucha Tzipporah Kirshenzaft, decided to make one of their events in Hevron and coordinated it with Chabad of Hevron.
The night they chose to come to Hevron was the onset of Rebbitzen Menucha Rochel's Yartzeit. The women first congregated in Maaras HaMachpela where they took some time to Daven before being addressed by Mrs. Sara Nachshon who recounted the fascinating story of the women who established the modern community in Hevron by entering the deserted Beit Hadassah building through a second story window in the middle of the night. Mrs. Nachshon was the main instigator and navigator of the conquest.
Like the daughters of Tzlaphchod and the women of Beit Hadassah, Chabad of Hevron wishes the women of Gush Katif should be given the opportunity to guide their families to their homes in their portion of the Holy Land. May it be with love and peace and speedily in our days.
Former NBC producer Mrs. Molly Resnick flew in from New York just to address the women from Gush Katif. "I am grateful for the opportunity to be able to speak to these ladies," she said. "It was an honor to be there. After my presentation a number of women approached me and told me that what I said was exactly what they needed to hear.
"I told them how the Rebbe taught us to handle devastating experiences in our life. We must take it to heart. We must build. And through our building we will be consoled.
"This is the wisdom that empowers a person to liberate themselves from despair."
